A Healthy Version Of Tikki Made Using Chana Dal And Cabbage
 
Chana Dal and cabbage are the best ingredients for people with diabetes. They will be thanking God as they have something to eat. The ingredients are very dull and tasteless when consumed solely but when combined together in the form of Tikki tastes very delicious. Make this delightful tikkis by adding some Indian masalas, and they are sure to satiate you to the full. Since the minimal amount of oil is used, the tikkis are very healthy and can be consumed by health-conscious people.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Chana Dal, soaked and drained
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon coarsely chopped green chillies
  • 2 tablespoon finely chopped mint leaves (pudina)
  • 1/4 teaspoon haldi powder (turmeric)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder (jeera)
  • 2 tablespoon low-fat curd
  • Salt as per the taste
  • 1/4 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1 3/4 teaspoon oil for cooking
Making of Chana Dal and Cabbage Tikki:

1. Take a blender and add soaked Chana Dal to it. Now, add coarsely chopped green chillies and 2 tablespoons of water in a blender and blend into a coarse paste. 

2. Now, transfer the coarse paste into a bowl, add chopped cabbage, mint leaves, haldi powder, cumin powder, low-fat curd, salt, and besan. Mix all the ingredients well. 

3. Now, take a small portion of the mixture and make a flat round tikki of it. In the same way, make flat round tikkis from the remaining mixture and place it on the plate.

4. Now, take a non-stick pan and heat it on a low flame. Grease the pan using 1/4 teaspoon of oil. Place the tikki on the pan and cook until golden brown in colour.

5. Now, turn the Tikki, apply very little oil and let the other side also get cooked until golden brown. In the same way, prepare the remaining Tikkis.

6. Serve these delicious Chana Dal and Cabbage Tikkis along with spicy coriander chutney or sauce. This is the best dish to have as evening snacks and satiate yourself to the full.
