Try The Healthy Snack Item, Spinach Dhokla
Dhokla is a recipe from Gujarat which is loved by all age group people. The simple recipe is so healthy & made without putting so much effort. The Spinach dhokla is Gujarati’s healthy recipe prepared by the combination of spinach & dal. It is made using the usual components such as pigeon peas, spinach, fruit salt, yoghurt, green chillies & sugar. You could pair the dish with jalebi, fafda or other dry snacks. Have the lip smacking item with your favorite chutneys & indulge in tempting flavours. It’s a perfect healthy snack you could have and enjoy anytime.
Ingredients for Spinach Dhokla:
- pureed spinach-2 1/2 cup
- asafoetida-1 pinch
- sugar-2 teaspoon
- pigeon peas-1 1/2 cup
- lemon juice-2 teaspoon
- mustard seeds-1 teaspoon
- plain greek yogurt-2 1/2 cup
- salt as needed
- green chillies-5
- fruit salt-1 1/2 teaspoon
- refined oil as needed
- curry leaves as needed
How to prepare Spinach Dhokla:
Step 1) To prepare the recipe, soak the dal for six to seven hrs. Then put the soaked dal along with yogurt in blender to prepare a fine paste. Bring out the mix in a vessel & keep it beside.
Step 2) Next, put the mixture in a vessel & drop asafoetida, spinach puree, lemon juice, chopped green chilies, fruit salt, salt, sugar. Mix completely.
Step 3) Now, grease the dhokla tray with oil & pour the batter in it & put the tray in a steamer. Steam it for six to seven mins. When it is cooked consciously detach the made dhokla from steamer. Cut in shapes you prefer.
Step 4) Take a little kadai & pour oil in it. When the oil is heated, drop chilies, mustard seeds & curry leaves. Stir for a while & drop the dhokla pieces. The Spinach Dhokla is ready for eating. Have it hot with any chutney of your choice.
